A Conversation with Deanne StillmanTUESDAY, APRIL 9TH, AT 6:30 P.M.Join SLO NightWriters for a special evening featuring a conversation between journalist and SLO Review publisher Charlotte Alexander and critically acclaimed author Deanne Stillman. Stillman is a widely published writer of literary nonfiction. Her books include Blood Brothers, Desert Reckoning, Mustang, and Twentynine Palms, a Los Angeles Times bestseller and cult classic that Hunter Thompson called “[a] strange and brilliant story by an important American writer.” Stillman's latest book is American Confidential, which was praised by Jerry Stahl, Darin Strauss, Gustavo Arellano, T. Jefferson Parker, and others. American Confidential is a mother-son noir tale that plays out across the Wild West of mid-twentieth century America, delving into Lee Harvey Oswald’s nomadic boyhood, and the world of his restless and disillusioned mother, who passed along a legacy of class resentment and a clamorous need to matter. Volumes of Pleasure Bookshoppe will have copies of Stillman's latest book available for purchase, and Stillman will be available to sign your books. |
