ABOUT NIGHTWRITERS
The Central Coast’s Writing Network since 1988

For more than two decades, SLO NightWriters has flourished in San Luis Obispo County, California. Founded in 1988, this non-profit organization is run by dedicated volunteers, providing support, encouragement, and resources to anyone who is interested in improving their writing skills…and following their passion.

WHO WE ARE

Writing is a passion that can’t be ignored. For many, this means balancing their writing with day jobs and families, making time for creativity whenever they can…like the late hours of the night.

SLO NightWriters members are both published and unpublished, writing in genres that range from fiction and poetry to nonfiction and blogging. Local members hail from the Central Coast of California, while our website enables participation from writers all around the world.

WHERE WE MEET

All members and visitors are invited to attend free monthly meetings, where featured presenters give informative presentations and mini-workshops in a state-of-the art media room. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month (except July and August) from 7PM to 9PM at:

ABOUT MEMBERSHIP

Our monthly meetings and many workshops are open to non-members; but membership has multiple, valuable benefits.

In addition to monthly meetings and website information, members receive:

* A Member Bio listing on our website, with links to personal website(s) and email

* A listing on our website’s NW Publications Page, with links to websites for ordering information

* Opportunities to submit work to publications, such as Tolosa Press

* Access to critique workshops, contests, and special events

* Members-only website forum (coming soon)

Annual Membership Fee*: $30.00
Student/Limited Income Fee*: $15.00

*All Newsletters and announcements are sent via e-mail. We must have your email address in order to keep you up-to-date on NightWriters news and events. Special events are also listed on the website.
