Meetings
April 1st, 2009 by SLO NightWriters
SLO NightWriters monthly meetings are open to the public and feature informative speakers and/or hands-on mini-workshops for all phases and genres of writing, from journalism, literary/commercial fiction and genre fiction to poetry, creative nonfiction, children’s literature and technical writing.
Recent meetings have included workshops on producing an irresistible first page; creating and maintaining tension; crafting short fiction; poetry for non-poets; creating an online presence; publishing; and marketing. Our December Holiday Party is a celebration of writing in all its various formats, complete with original entertainment and holiday goodies to eat.
Our new meeting venue is a state-of-the art media room, which gives us access to the 21st Century technology that today’s writer needs. In addition to desktop computers, email, printers and a full Power Point setup, Wifi is available for those who bring their laptops, so everyone can participate in the monthly meetings that utilize this technology.
Admission to monthly meetings is free and refreshments are served.
Visitors are always welcome to attend. Come meet other writers and find out more about our organization!
